Walk 4 Troops Account Information

You may be able to register to create an account on this website. To do so, we ask for information such as your name and email address.  If you are under age 13, please do not attempt to register for Walk 4 Troops or provide any personal information about yourself to us. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from a child under age 13, please contact us.

1. Sender

A sender can be either a service member or a civilian. As a sender, you will be asked to create a profile with our website. This will include inputting you name, address, and shipping information so that we are able to ship a pedometer to you. This biographical profile data will be stored on our servers, so that when you log onto the website, you will be able to log your miles, pick the service member you would like to receive your care packages, and track your packages to make sure that your selected service members receive them. You also will be asked to input your credit card information in order to purchase a pedometer. We offer the use of secure server with data encryption. All of the sensitive credit information that you provide is transmitted via Secure Socket Layers (SSL) technology and then encryption into our Payment gateway provider’s database to be accessible only by those authorized with special access rights to such systems. Those trusted employees are required to keep your information confidential. After a transaction, your private credit card information will not remain stored on our servers.

2. Military Recipient

Service members will be asked to create a profile and input their biographical data (name, rank, station, ect.) so that we will be able to ship care packages to them. This information will remain stored safely on our server. A sender will only be able to see the service member’s name and rank, and the rest of the service member’s information will be kept completely confidential. You can also use the "my account" feature to create a wish list of products you want and share your list by email with friends and family. If you choose to share your list, we ask for your name and email address and the recipient's email address. This information is used only to email your list to your desired recipients.
You can create and save an address book on your account. You can delete entries in the address book at any time.

Email to a Friend

You may be able to share certain content from this website with your friends. To send information to your friends, we ask for your friends' and your email addresses. We use this information only to fulfill your request. We do not retain the information you provide in connection with this feature, except to send the requested content. We will not include any other advertisements within the messages sent to your friends.
